Vintage Effect on Photoshop

I have researched and looked into creating a vintage effect on an image in Adobe Photoshop. I found a website that had clear step by step instructions on how to do this. Here is the link: http://www.digitalartsonline.co.uk/tutorials/photoshop/vintage-effects-photos/#10

It gives the effect that a newly taken photo, was taken back in the 60's without looking too processed. Here is the image I took off the website above, demonstrating this effect:

Although this looks like an old photo, there is an Iphone in the image which proves this was actually taken fairly recently!

I decided that I would like to give this ago myself, so I chose a new image and tried my own example. Here is the before photo below:

This is the after result from all the effects that I added:

I used many different adjustment layers including; lens correction, noise, high pass, hue/saturation, curves, levels and contrast. These all create a vintage effect and makes the image look a lot older and therefore not as good quality, as this would be correct at this time.

FMP Photoshop Practice

Here I have experimented with Adobe Photoshop and retouched an image of my sister Vicky. Below I have the before and after picture, to demonstrate the differences that I have made from the original.

I have learnt how to do a variety of techniques, including teeth whitening, removing freckles, blemishes and eye enhancements such as; whitening and sharpness. I learnt a lot of these techniques from Youtube tutorials and also trial and error. For example, when going through each retouching step, I learnt other tips and methods including; quick selection tool, opacity, lots of filters and also keyboard shortcuts.

Here are a few screenshots of new techniques that I have developed a skill in:

GIF

Here is my GIF that I created on Photoshop in today's lesson. Firstly I took a series of photos that can be put together to make a flowing sequence. I then inserted the pictures into Photoshop and put them in order with a 0.1 second delay, to make the animation sequence a little bit longer.
Here is a screenshot of how I created this animation, below is a zoomed version to show the individual photos that have been put together on a timeline. My GIF was only ten frames long as the bee jumps quite far, however if I did this again I would take more photos so the bee would fly more smoothly and look more realistic.

Effect of Colour

My group and I explored the college for as many interesting colours we could find and took picture evidence of them on our phones. Here are a few of the more unique colours that I took on my mobile phone.

Once I had the images on my phone I transferred them to the computer and inserted them into Photoshop. At which I learnt how to manipulate the images so they would blend into a colour wheel, which I found off of Google.

In the same lesson I also learnt the effect that colour has on people, and found out that a colour can connote a certain feeling or mood. For example blue can make someone feel calm and relaxed, however red connotes danger and therefore makes you feel on edge.
