Typography Research- Pop up Book

In this blog post, I have put together some research on suitable typography for a children's pop up book that I am creating for my 'Peep show' project. I started off by looking at general fonts that are a bit more fun, but still clear and understandable for a younger audience. Here are some images below of the ones that I found:








As you can see, all of the above are very colourful and for the most part, fairly bold. This makes it clear and a lot more interesting for a younger audience. I could include similar ones in my own handmade book.

I then looked into a more creative aspect of typography within a pop up book specifically, and these are the images I found below:



These are a lot more unique and clever. The pop up is actually the type as well and because of this, it is probably a little bit more complex and therefore aimed at a slightly older age range.
